Description
On beautiful Osterøy you will find Stabbesteinsvegen, a spectacular road that stretches over 7 kilometers on the east side of the island.
With a total of 1,727 staff stones, this unique road winds from Blomdalsleitet and the hiking group cabin at Træet, all the way down to the idyllic fjord at Grøtto.
The hike starts on a flat road from the parking lot, and it is about 1 km to Træet gård, which is a DNT cabin. From here it continues flat first over a bridge and further along Torvavatnet, then along the river down to Botnavatnet. In some places on this section it goes steeply on one side down to the river. There are beautiful staff stones along the entire way.
The road then moves around Botnavatnet, past some cabins, and then begins to curve down towards the fjord and Grøtto. This is the most exciting part. Here it goes down steeply on one side, and there are large boulders set up all the way down to the fjord.
Down by Grøtto there is a pier, an old cabin and a dilapidated boathouse. Return the same way.
