Mountain hike to Preikestolen (425 m above sea level) on Osterøy

The hike starts at Osvatnet parking, where you will find an old sign marked 'Preikestolen'. Go up the stairs and continue under the pipe and up the Next stairs. Follow the regular path that leads you towards Høgafjellet. When you reach Kupene and pass the marshes, you will reach a new fork in the path. Here you follow the path marked towards Tyssesætra.

Further up the slope the path can become unclear, but stay up the valley in a northwesterly direction. After a while the path becomes clear again and turns north, where you will come to the old cabin 'Tyssesætra'. From the cabin you take the path on the left and come up to the plateau. From here the path is poor, but the route is marked with small cairns, so look for them.

Prekestolen itself is located as a short detour a short Distance before the summit cairn. It goes down steeply and the view is fantastic. Up at the summit cairn there is also a great view. You can continue on to Kvamsfjellet or take the return the same way. 🌄
