This tour starts from Fjord Castle Hotel in Fotlandsvåg. For those who are not guests at the hotel, it is recommended to park and start at the sports field.
The gravel road towards Åsheimveten can be found just south of the football pitch. An information board shows two possible starting options: either follow the gravel road or take the steeper path. The path is well marked and of good quality, and it connects with the gravel road just before Fotlandssætra, where the gravel road also ends.
Just after Fotlandssætra, the trail becomes considerably steeper, especially the last stretch up to where the trail splits towards Åsheimveten or Tveitafjellet. From there it is easy to reach the top of Åsheimveten, which offers spectacular views in all directions.
At the top you will find a cairn, a book and a flagpole. Here you will get a panoramic view of Osterfjorden and Nordhordland. 🌄
