Ski trip Livarden (683 m) from Bontveit

Access

Drive into Bonveitdalen to the top of Bontveit (9 km from Osveien). If the first parking lot is full, drive down the hill and park in the parking lot at the bend towards Lund.

Free parking at Bontveit/Lund.

Description

Take the road marked Gullfjellet/Livarden and strap on your skis when you reach the gate at the top of the hill.

Følg veien innover å gå opp bakken til venstre hvor det er (skiltet Livarden) mot Rambjørgvatnet. Gå helt til veien slutter. Her finnes en benk med utsikt mot Livarden. Deretter fortsetter turen på sti.

Just follow the cairns towards the top. There are some steep sections so traps are recommended.

At the top is a 360-degree panoramic view, with views towards Bergen south and Ulriken can be glimpsed in the Distance . You can see Skådalsnipa and Arnanipa. Slettegga, Austlifjell and Hausdalshorga spreading across Dyrdalen. Gullfjellet (North Pole) and Søre Gullfjellstoppen (South Pole) are visible in the background. Svenningen, Søtafjellet and Møsnuken are visible to the south.

Return the same way. For a longer round trip, follow the path/ski Track south down to Grindåsen. Then follow Humlestølsvegen (a paved Track ) which runs parallel to Livarden north all the way up to Rambjørgvatnet.

Fantastic ski trip where you really get the high mountain feeling just 20 minutes from Nesttun!
