Access

Tent trip in wild and beautiful nature from Ljosanbotn (Voss municipality) to Soleifletene in Aurland municipality.

Took the local train from Bergen to Myrdal. Got off at Ljosanbotn where the trail started right Next to the platform. Also possible to drive from Voss and park in Ljosanbotn.

Description

The hike starts in Ljosanbotn and you follow the sign towards Grindaflethytta.

The first stage is a gentle climb up Ljosandalen along the Ljosåni River to Borgarebuvotni. Here the mobile phone coverage disappears and there is no coverage for the rest of the trip. The terrain is easy to walk and the landscape is fantastic with green, lush valleys and sheep grazing. The T-path is well marked and easy to follow. After about 8 kilometers you enter the Grånosmyrane nature reserve, a flat and open area with, among other things, a bustling and varied birdlife.

At the end of the nature reserve you will meet the first summer bridge at Elvamotet, solidly built and easy and a bit exciting to cross. The last few kilometers you walk along Stordalen to Storhaugvatnet. Here it is open, flat and perfect for camping with many small streams to fill your water bottle. Here you can explore the Soleilfletene or continue to Grindaflethytta and spend the night. You can continue to Flåm or in the opposite direction through Fyresdalen to Stalheim.

The area is incredibly beautiful and if you like going to places with few people, this is perfect.
