Access

From Nesttun, drive the Hardangerveien towards Arna past Grimesvingene, and turn right onto Unnelandsvegen. Continue to the intersection and turn right onto Gullfjellsvegen. Follow the road all the way to Osavatn where there is a tourist parking lot. There is a fee for parking on Saturday/Sunday.
If you are coming from Bergen city centre, drive to Åsane and continue towards Arna via Gaupås. Drive past Arna towards Espeland and turn left onto Unnelandsvegen where there is a sign 'Espeland Fangeleir'. Follow Unnelandsvegen straight ahead onto Gullfjellsvegen. (NB: Do not turn left towards the prison camp)

Parking

Parking at Osavatn. Free on weekdays. NOK 40 Sat/Sun.

Description

Short hike of approx. 1 hour from Osavatn to Redningshytten.

The hike starts on a gravel road and continues on a beautiful path, equipped with bridges and stone steps to the cabin.

Round trip time 2-3 hours.
Season: All year round / Skiing and snowshoeing in winter.
