Hike to the Bjørnåsen viewpoint (175 m above sea level) in Søfteland

Short hike to a viewpoint over Søfteland. Start at the disused ER-AN roadside inn. If you are driving from Bergen city centre and want to avoid tolls, you can park at Kalandseidet and walk along the pavement to the start.

Follow the sidewalk along Byvegen / Osveien approx. 500 meters direction Os. Then turn right up a long hill (Munkevegen). Walk past the houses to the end of the road. Continue straight ahead on the left side of the garage where the road turns into a forest road. After approx. 500 meters up two steep hills you will see a wooden sign marked 'Bjørnåsen' nailed to a spruce tree.

Follow the path on the left through the spruce forest and over the bog (south). At the end of the bog you will come onto a new path with red markings. Follow the path south and turn left at the first and second crossroads. From there the path leads you around a mound and up to Bjørnåsen (175 m above sea level).
