Lyshornet (405 m) from Kalandseidet

Great hike from Kalandseidet to one of the most popular peaks in Os - Lyshornet (405 m). Very wet so high shoes are recommended.

Follow the footpath/cycle path along Kalandsvannet for approx. 1 km. Here you will see a sign on the left 'Turvei / Lyshornet'. Follow the path into the forest southwards. After a few hundred metres there is a crossroads. Here you turn right. Follow the path southwards in hilly terrain. It goes up and down and you cross many wet bogs. The walk is marked with yellow wooden pegs in the trees.

If you hear bangs, it's from the shooting range at Kismul just below. As you approach Lille Lyshornet, the climb is more even. The last part of the hike here goes through spruce forest, but there's no problem finding your way as the trail is good.

Fra Lille Lyshornet går det bratt ned hvor du deretter krysser en myr. Så kommer du inn på hovedstien til Lyshornet som går fra Lysekloster. Siste del opp til Lyshornet er bratt. Her anbefales brodder visst det er isete.
