Access

From the city you drive to Nesttun and then towards Os. When you get to Kaland you drive to the left sign 'Bontveit'. Drive approx. 3 km. up the valley to this long flat area before Gimmeland Juletreskog. On the right you will see a gravel road that leads to a barrier. Park along this road.

Parking

Free parking along the gravel road.

Description

Follow the gravel road past the barrier. Keep right until you reach intersection number 2.

Here there is a sign 'Solbakkefjellet' up the hill. Go up here and follow the gravel road to the top where there is a large turning area. Here a road goes to the right which leads into the spruce forest. Go up here and you will see red and white marking tapes in the trees.

Follow the marked path into the spruce forest. After a while the path turns south and then to the right up a steep slope. It can be slippery here so walk carefully.

At the top, the path turns south and you come out of the spruce forest. Follow the marked path on the left side of the ridge. In some places the path is bad but just follow the marking tape. After a few hundred meters the path crosses over to the right and you arrive at the viewpoint.

Here there is a bench and a mailbox with a book. Enjoy the great view of Kalandsvannet and Fanafjorden. You can also see Lyshornet to the south. If you walk a little further you can see Ulriken and Løvstakken to the right. Write your name in the book and return the same way.

Have a good trip!
