The Gimmelands round (long) in Bontveitdalen

This is a nice hike where the entire route is on a gravel road. From the parking lot at Gimmeland Gaard, follow the gravel road to the left towards the barrier. Follow the road to the right of the barrier along the inland field into the spruce forest. At the Next intersection, turn right, then just follow the gravel road to Totland ski resort.  

At the ski resort, follow the road sign 'Frotveit 3.7 km' all the way to Frotveit. It is mostly flat, but with some ups and downs. Nice forest scenery surrounds the road and in the Distance you can see Hausdalshorga. After the last ascent, it is a smooth downhill to Frotveit.

At Frotveit, cross Bontveitvegen and head towards the Frotveit light trail. Just after the light trail starts, take the gravel road down to the right. The road goes through the beautiful Gaupedalen. A small river with small fish flows through it and the road is surrounded by large fir trees. But be careful as there are many people training horses on this road, especially if you have children or a dog with you.

At the end of the road, turn right and follow the gravel road through the barrier to Bontveitvegen. Walk the last 400 meters along Bontveitvegen to the parking lot.
