Description
This is a great ski trip in rugged terrain, where you are almost guaranteed not to encounter many people.
On the way to Voss, you leave the E16 and drive towards Eksingedalen. Follow the road into the valley, and drive over the mountain pass from Brekkhus towards Nesheim. Park at the top of the mountain pass at Vinningsleitet. Here you stand along the road in a plowed parking space. It can sometimes be a bit tricky to find a space, depending on how well it has been plowed.
Strap on your skis and start the hike. There is no marked trail up to Nonhaugen, so you have to make your own judgments along the way. It may still be a good idea to follow our GPS Track , which follows the fastest route up to the cairn at Nonhaugen. The cairn is located on the northern part of the peak, where the view is best. The highest point on Nonhaugen is a little further south.
The ascent from the road to the cairn is relatively short. From the cairn you can extend the hike by continuing west towards Blåfjellet (1101 m), where there is also a cairn. Take your time and make careful assessments along the way to reduce the risk of avalanches. If you do not want to continue to Blåfjellet, you can do the round trip as shown in the GPS Track .
This ski tour is best suited for mountain skis with steel edges.
Have a good trip!
