Access

From Bergen city center, drive over the Sotra Bridge and continue through the Kolltveit Tunnel. Drive left at the roundabout towards Sund and past the parking lot at Fjellfesting. Drive past Skogsvåg and follow the road straight ahead towards Hammersland. Drive straight ahead at the Next roundabout towards Klokkarvik. Then drive until you see Stranda School on your left. Park at the school.

Description

The peak is located at the very south of Sotra on Steinsland. Very nice view, recommended!

From the parking lot, walk up towards the school/swimming pool. Here you will see hiking signs. Go straight ahead towards the big guitar and follow the path to the right that curves up behind the guitar. The path goes through classic Sotra terrain with knolls and little vegetation. After a while you will come to a new sign marked 'Veten 1.5'. Follow the path further. There are some steep sections. It can also be slippery, so bring crampons if it has been frosty.

Go up the long pile of rocks to a new sign. Here you can take a detour to Storevarden. But if you are going to Veten, continue straight ahead. Cross the marsh and go up the last rampart. Here is an engine part from an airplane cast into the mountain. Continue 150 meters further towards the mast.

At the top there is a cairn, binoculars and a book. Enjoy a 360 degree view!
