Hiking to Bekhilderen (the cave by the sea) in Telavåg

To enter the cave you must go at low tide.

The walk starts at Telavåg sports ground. Walk Telavågvegen down to the main road. Cross here to continue on the pavement along the road until you reach Selstøsjøen (the road). Walk down here and turn left onto Håvardenvegen, then left again. Walk down Håvardenvegen. It goes through a chain barrier and then becomes a gravel road. At the bottom of the hill, take the path to the left (there is a mailbox here). Walk the cairn path over to Grunnevågen. Go down the stairs and go right. From here, the cairn path goes to the Next crossroads where there is a sign 'Bekhilderen'. Follow this path to the cave. It is marked with small cairns and red-painted spots on the rocks all the way.

Make sure there is spring water when you enter the cave. It can also be slippery on the rocks. Return the same way.
