Hiking from Samnanger through Kikedalen to Gjøn

Kikedalen is a long valley that stretches from Holmane in Samnanger and south towards Gjønavatnet in Fusa. The valley has beautiful scenery and is surrounded by steep mountains on both sides.

The hike starts in Samnanger municipality at the parking lot at Holmane. From here you first go on a forest road until you come down to Kikedalen. From there you follow the path south through the valley. The path is of varying quality throughout Kikedalen. On the way down the valley you cross the municipal border from Samnanger to Bjørnafjorden (formerly the municipal border to Fusa). On the way down you will also see many walls from old stables.

At the end of the hike you get a nice view down towards Lake Gjønavatnet. The hike ends on a path along Lake Gjønavatnet and ends in the small village of Gjøn.
