From Bergen, drive to Arna and towards Trengereid. When you reach the roundabout, drive towards Voss. Follow the E16 to Dale. Drive through the center of Dale and follow Bergsdalsvegen up into Bergsdalen. This road is steep and narrow, so drive carefully. Follow the road past Hamlagrøosen (the lake) and turn right at Hodnaberg power plant.
Ski trip from Hodnaberg in Bergsdalen to the beautiful DNT cabin Kiellandbu via Sveindalsnuten 1065 m.
From the power station, head south along Hodnabergsvegen. Cross the bridge and put on your skis. The summer route to Kiellandbu goes south in Kvålsdalen. You must not go here because there is a high risk of avalanches in winter.
From the road, go right up the slope and through the forest to the south-west. It is steep at first. Once you have reached the flat, follow the ridge south parallel to Kvålsdalen. There is a small descent before the ascent to Sveindalsnuten. This section may feel narrow and exposed to some. It is wider than it looks, but do not go too far out on the edges as there may be snowdrifts.
At the top of Sveindalsnuten there is a great view down to Kiellandbu. I recommend running down a little to the right first before turning left onto the flat. Run in all directions. Take your time and enjoy the view. On nice winter days this descent offers a magical atmosphere.
The last part to the cabin is flat with a little up and down.
