Mountain hike to Molden (1116 m) in Luster

Experience the finest view of the Sognefjord. This is one of the most popular hikes in Sogn og Fjordane. In the summer there is a lot of traffic of both Norwegian and foreign tourists who go to the top.

Go to the end of the first parking lot and onto the forest road to the left up the hill and on to the path. There are many people walking here so the path is extremely wide. After a while you will come onto a new forest road / gravel road. Follow this to a new sign marked 'Molden'. Now you turn onto the path. There are long wooden bridges and Sherpa stairs. Follow the path to above the tree line where you start to get a fjord view.  

Further on you reach the old farm building at Svarthiller. A perfect starting point for good photos.  

From here the trail turns left and you have to climb a steep section and further on new Sherpa steps. Now follows a long climb along the ridge before a flatter climb towards the summit cairn.  

I recommend first going to the cairn and then to Gapahuken / the cabin and then walking southeast where it drops steeply into the fjord. Then follow the path southwest and return the same way.
