Access

From Bergen you drive to Eidfjord and further up to Hardangervidda. It is approx. 2 h. 50 min. drive from Bergen.

Parking

Free parking along the road at Krossdalen in the parking lot.

Description

Strap on your skis at the parking lot and head into Krossdalen heading north.

The trail is branched. After about 1 km, the branch goes left up a ravine and then north via Sandtjørna. However, we chose to go straight ahead via the Krossdalen cabins and up into Norddalen. Here we entered the Branched route to the cabin. The reason we went here was because the Track was built and the route was somewhat shorter than the branched one. If you are in doubt about the route, I would always recommend following the branched route.

Further into Nordalen, a branched trail leads north-east. The terrain is classic Hardangervidda terrain, flat and nice. Some fun hills and gullies down, but not particularly steep. The last part goes over a long flat area before a small uphill. At the top of this you will see the cabin and you just have to run down to the finish line.

Return the same way.

This is a ski trip suitable for most people with some skiing experience. Bring warm clothes and food as the weather can change quickly on Hardagervidda.
