Access

Approximately 2 hours 53 minutes (171 km) drive from Bergen city center.

Parking

Free parking at the start.

Description

The hike starts just by Vøringsfossen. Follow the DNT-marked trail northwards. After a few km you will come to a stile. Here there is a crossroads, and you should go into the valley to the left between Store- and Lille Ishaug. When you reach a small water you should turn off the trail towards Store Ishaug. It is not a trail, but marked with placed stones. You should go straight towards the mountain. The ascent to the cairn is on the left side.

Wear good shoes as there can be a lot of slippery rocks before the top.

At the cairn there is a view towards Hardangerjøkulen, Hårteigen and the Hardangervidda plateau south.
