Access

From Bergen you drive to Askøy. Drive over the bridge and continue straight through the Stongafjelltunnelen. At the roundabout after the tunnel you drive straight ahead following the sign 'Ravnanger / Herdla'.

Continue north towards Herdla. Drive past Ramnanger and over the roller coaster section (the road goes up and down). Stop on the right side at Åsebøkverna. It is approx. 3 km. from Ramnanger center.

Free parking along the road at Åsebøkverna.

Description

Cross the road (NB: Be careful as this is an 80 zone).

Follow the forest road into the forest (it is signposted all the way). It alternates between a path and a forest road. The hike first goes up to Åsebøåsen. Here is a viewpoint with benches and signs that tell the story behind the bomb crater. Then follow the marked path down towards the main road.

Cross the main road and follow the lighted trail at Siglingavatnet. The hike does not go down to the water. Follow the lighted trail north and keep left. At Trædet the trail ends and the hike turns onto a paved road.

Follow the paved road up the hill past Trædet School. Here you turn left into the forest. Go past the construction site and follow the marked path down the stairs. The path then goes both up and down the terrain over Vågsbotnen. The last part down to the water has built stairs where you then go up to the main road.

This is where the 3rd stage ends. The last stage towards Herdla begins on the opposite side of the road.
