Easy ski round in groomed cross-country ski trails around Ustedalsfjorden in the middle of Geilo. The route goes through relatively flat terrain and follows the water's edge with a nice view of the hillsides. Along the way, you will find several natural places to take a break, and the trail makes the round easy for both beginners and families. Allow 3 hours at a leisurely pace, or use it as a comfortable warm-up before longer trips in the high mountains later in the weekend.

SkiGeilo - Ski center in Geilo  

SkiGeilo is one of Norway's largest and most family-friendly ski resorts, with 46 slopes and 20 modern lifts. You can ski slalom on both sides of Geilo - at Geiloheisen and Vestlia - and use the entire facility on the same day. A free ski bus runs in shuttle traffic between the valley sides and takes about 10 minutes, and it also goes to several accommodation places in the morning and afternoon. Here you will find everything from wide blue trails to red and black challenges, in addition to children's areas, ski school, and ski rental.

Ski trip to Prestholtseter (1246 m) from Havsdalen

The ski trip to Prestholtseter (1246 m) starts at Havsdalen Ski Center in Geilo. Up here there is parking, and it is about 10 minutes by car from the center. You follow groomed cross-country ski tracks all the way – often among the first to be groomed in winter. The route has a steady ascent in open high mountain terrain, with Hallingskarvet as a backdrop, and ends at Prestholtseter – perfect as an easily accessible day trip. The trip is suitable for both regular cross-country skis and mountain skis.
