Finnbunuten (1358 m) from Vikafjellet
From the parking lot, follow the road 100 meters to the left, cross the bridge, and take the path to the cabin at Finnbuene. Continue into the valley on the left side of the river into Finnbugjuvet. When the path becomes weak, you angle towards the ridge on your left and make your way up towards the south. Follow the ridge in easy terrain westward via small plateaus (cairns and animal tracks help). Between two lakes, you will join the marked route to the top – follow the red markings to the clear cairn.
From Finnbunuten, there is a wide view, often all the way to the glacier mountains in the north. Return the same way.
Olsskavlen (1576 m) from Raundalen
Start at the train station in Raundalen (cross the tracks carefully), over the bridge, and on a good path towards Vollbotnen/Vollbotsvatnet. After the cabins, you turn towards the river and cross the bridge. The path continues into the forest slopes towards Tungefjellet before it becomes indistinct above the tree line. Follow small cairns through the rubble past a prominent boulder and up to Tungefjellet.
From here, there is cairn orientation in open high mountains towards the south and southeast. The ground is blocky with loose stones and snow patches – sturdy shoes are recommended. Pass a 'lurevarde' on the plateau before you reach the summit cairn on Olsskavlen, Voss' highest peak, with views of both Hardangerjøkulen and Folgefonna. Return the same way (or continue along Raundalsryggen for a longer day).
Mykkeltveitveten (1131 m) from Rasdalen
Walk through the gate at the parking lot and follow the T-marked path along Rasdalselva, over the bridge, and further to the cabin in Vibotnen. New fording/crossing without a bridge before you take the steepest slope up to Oskardet. The terrain flattens out in a plateau before the path leads down into Rasdalskarret with the mighty Mykkeltveitveten right in front of you.
From the south side, the path becomes unclear; the markings indicate the direction to the summit. Leave the T-path and follow the ridge northeast towards the main peak (1075–1131 m above sea level). At the top, there is a large cairn and mailbox – a view towards Vossafjella in all directions. Return the same way.

Ski trip from Gullbrå to Kvitanosi (1433 m above sea level)
From Gullbrå, follow the construction road for a short distance before taking the steep slope towards the ridge Gråbergsrusten and further towards Kjerringanosi. On the mountain plateau, it flattens out – follow the ridges southwards via Kyrafjellet (avoid cornices on the edges) to Kvitanosi. The last meters are gentler than they appear from a distance; round in on the south side for the easiest access to the cairn.
Kvitanosi offers a raw 360° winter view over Stølsheimen. Return the same way. Assess avalanche danger and wind – large areas may still have wind-loaded slopes on the edges.

Upsete – Grindaflethytta (World Heritage, day 1)
Classic hut-to-hut stage in the fringe zone of the Nærøyfjord World Heritage area. From Upsete station, follow a good path through Breidalen via Eilifsnuten and Ljosandbotn to Heggjanuten, cross the summer bridge over Rjoåni and continue through Stordalen and Jøtebotnen towards Grindafletvatni.
Grindaflethytta is a self-service DNT cabin with a wood stove and provisions – a perfect stop before day 2 towards Flåm. The route is varied and easy to follow in good weather; early in the season, snow patches and high water flow may occur.
