Kvinnherad offers some of the most varied high mountains in Vestlandet – from airy peaks around Rosendal to broad ridges with wide views of Hardangerfjord and Folgefonna.

Her er fem sikre favoritter for deg som planlegger fjellturer i Kvinnherad.

1. Melderskin (1426 m) in Rosendal

Melderskin is the landmark above Rosendal and a demanding classic for experienced mountain hikers. The path is clear, but steep and long – the reward is magnificent views of Folgefonna, Hardangerfjord, and the Rosendal Alps. Return the same way.

2. Malmangernuten (889 m) in Rosendal

«Nuten» er blant de mest besøkte toppene i Rosendal. Ruten kan starte fra sentrum og er godt skiltet og merket hele veien. Moderat lengde fra havnivå, men jevnt bratt stigning med nesten 900 høydemeter stigning. Fra toppen  får du den storfjellfølelse med usikt mot naboen Melderskin!

3. Ulvanosa: Geitadalstind (1210 m) – with the possibility of Høgetinden (1248 m)

Alpine summit hike with exposed sections towards Geitadalstind. The final ascent is airy; an alternative, more sheltered line to the right can be used if needed. The view from the top is wide in all directions. If you want more, you can continue the T-marked route down 100 meters of elevation to the pass and further to Høgetinden – the highest on the Ulvanosa ridge. Return via the same route.

4. Englafjell (1200 m) from Uskedalen

Characteristic neighboring peak to Ulvanosa with steep, quick access from Musland in Uskedalen. The route is well marked. At the top stands a large cairn and the view spans over Kvinnherad mountains, the fjord, and Folgefonna.

5. Skålafjell / Navarhaug (501 m) in Rosendal

Short mountain hike starting from Kvinnherad church. Follow Bjørkesveien to the gravel road and then signs and forest road/path marked towards Skålafjell. The last part is on a path and stone steps. The top is called Navarhaug and has a large cairn and wide views over Rosendal and the Rosendal Alps. For a longer hike, you can continue the ridge inward towards Nordlifjell (972 m).
