Mountain hike to Håvarden (396 m) in Masfjorden

Nice hike to an easily accessible peak with panoramic views of the Austfjord.

The walk starts from the main road. Follow the gravel road past the farmyard and further inland along inland fields and pastures. Go through the gate where the tractor road ends - here you will find a sign marked 'Håvarden'. Cross the wooden bridge and follow the path further through the forest. It is marked with red arrows and paint marks on the trees. Towards the end, stone cairns show the way to the top. The path is clear all the way, and the cairn is visible from a good Distance . At the top you get a great view of the Austfjorden.

The return journey follows the same route.
