Approx. 4 hours 9 minutes (236 km) drive from Bergen including ferry time.

Parking

There are several parking lots along the road. This tour starts at the parking lot at the top.

Description

Spectacular mountain hike to the characteristic mountain peak in Gloppen.

Eggenipa in Gloppen is one of the most photographed rock formations in the area. The mountain rises 1338 m above sea level and offers magnificent views. Start the hike in Øvredalen, approx. 3 km south of Byrkjelo. The hike is demanding with some cleft sections, there are chains and ropes laid out at the most exposed places that you can hold on to.

The trip is not recommended for those with altitude sickness.

Length: Approx. 4.6 km round trip. Can also be walked as a round trip.
Time: Approx. 3 hours. NB: The round trip is a bit longer.
Grading: Demanding
