Hiking along Åkrasanden on Karmøy

Åkrasanden is a large and beautiful sandy beach located in the far west of Karmøy, about a 30-minute drive from Haugesund.

This area is the largest sand dune area on the southwest coast outside of Jærkysten and Lista. The beach is divided by smaller headlands and has a grassy, ​​gently rolling hinterland that provides a scenic experience.

The area is very well laid out with three large parking lots, three modern toilet buildings, as well as tables and benches for picnics and relaxation. Even if you don't plan on swimming or sunbathing, Åkrasanden is a perfect place for a walk. There is a nice road along the entire beach, which in some places turns into a path.
